As the Applegreen Sail for Kids crew have under 2 weeks to go to the big race we talk to John Phelan, one of our Applegreen staff members who decided to take part in the challenge:

Applegreen are excited about undertaking a new adventure and has a crew of 10 volunteer staff members doing rigorous sailing training every week in the run up to the very exciting Round Ireland Yacht Race. These very brave volunteers will be setting sail on their boat ‘Applegreen Sail for Kids’ and will be raising much needed funds for our charity partners, Barnardos, DEBRA Ireland and ISPCC/Childline. Our Applegreen sites are also very enthusiastic and are doing collections in store in the lead up to the race!
