Fly in, fuel up, take off

Fly in, fuel up, take off

You are driving down the road with an important appointment to keep and suddenly the lights turn orange and you realise you won’t make it through. So you simply grab the joystick and lean back for take off, wheeee … you just make it over the car which has ground to a halt in front of you and narrowly clear the double decker bus which just begun to cross the road in front of you. This could quite likely be the story you tell your friends in the bar in the very near future, with the opening line “Wow I had a close shave today!”

On the 29th of October A Slovakian company called AeroMobil will unveil the latest model of their flying car and it certainly promises to be impressive. The wings fold in for normal use and of course parking (I’m certainly glad to hear that otherwise it could prove awkward to say the least). The car itself can be tanked up at any gas station with regular fuel.

The question has been asked about no vertical take off capability but the manufacturers don’t see this as a problem. In it’s street shape it’s not much bigger than a luxury sports car. However you can’t deny that vertical take off and landing would certainly appeal to nervous parkers and comic freaks alike. Still we think it’s well worth taking a look at and meanwhile the boss has asked me to take a look at possible Arrival and Departure terminal designs for new Applegreen stations. He is convinced that this idea will take off.
