Drivers and cyclists have love hate relationships with lights. Some people hate driving at night and what if you forget your bicycle lights and have to cycle home on these dark evenings. We wait at lights constantly, grudgingly sometimes and are forever being blinded by oncoming undimmed car-lights.
Well it’s time to light and lighten up. Dutch design company Roosegaarde are doing just that. In Neunen Nl., a town whose most famous resident was a certain Vincent van Gogh for at least a couple of years, a bicycle path has just opened and is named after the great artist. It lights up when you need it, it’s free and is a beautiful thing indeed. We like any idea that makes driving and cycling as safe as possible. Especially on those starry starry nights.
