Petrol Station Manager (Liv-Man)

Summary of Role:
• Operate the Business strictly in accordance with Applegreen Operations System Manual
• To ensure full implementation of the Applegreen System
• To provide excellent customer service standards
• To assist in driving sales forward and achieving sales targets
• Adhere promptly to any reasonable instructions or requirements of the Company in respect of the Applegreen System
• Comply fully with and perform and fulfil all requirements whatsoever made by any health, public, local or other authority or any court or similar body or anybody with jurisdiction and/or ability or entitlement to make orders or direction in respect of the conduct of the Business
• To maintain and comply with all required and licences, approvals and permits required including Auto Fuel Traders licence and Dangerous substance licence.
• Operate the Business during the hours specified by the Company or the Company’s Regional Manager from time to time

Job Responsibilities:

• To be fully trained and Competent with Applegreen System and Procedures
• To be fully trained as a competent person in relation to fuel deliveries and to understand the process in which Fuel is ordered
• To be aware of all legislation in relation to the store, in particular Sales to minors, RRAI Code and IMB
• To ensure merchandising and presentation of entire store to be of the highest standard at all times
• To ensure all relevant signage is in place at all times and be able to print shelf edge labels when needed
• To complete Food Training Levels 1+2 and Food Passport where required
• To ensure that the shop HACCAP systems and daily check lists are completed each day
• To control stocktaking procedures, investigate over’s/shortages where needed and complete rolling stock take schedule each month
• Maintain stock levels/availability by replenishing displays/fridges within company guidelines and planograms
• To ensure all stock is rotated at all times
• To understand the importance of cost control, shrinkage and how it affects margin in both shop and deli areas.
• To manage the stock and order systems for ambient and chilled products in the shop ensuring that the store has 100% supply of items for the customer
• To manage the stock and order systems for non-resale items within the shop
• To operate the till in line with company till operation and cash handling procedures in accordance with the Applegreen Operations System Manual
• To provide clear weekly communication to the site team clearly outlining objectives
• Follow the Company’s cash collection Policy and Procedures for the safe storage and collection of the cash receipts of the Business for each calendar day in accordance with the Cash Collection Procedure including the instore ATM.
• To sell and demonstrate product knowledge by advising the customer/answering queries and suggesting products as part of the customer transaction. Act on intuitive to optimize sales to customers.
• To understand the correct procedure for newspaper/magazine /lotto deliveries and returns
• To understand the correct procedure for checking in all deliveries
• To deal with and resolve Customer complaints in line with company policy/procedures
• Understand the company QSS Audit and what it means- Make any adjusted noted during this audit in a timely and efficient manner
• Understand the procedure for call logging in relation to maintenance on site
• To Notify the Company of any defects to the Equipment and comply with the instructions of the Company in respect of the Equipment
• To notify Regional Manager of any Downtime that occurs on site
• To understand the workings of the company Intranet
• Understand the procedure for logging a ticket with service now with helpdesk and payroll
• To have working Knowledge of SMS to include Daily Sales Report, Stock Movement Report, Create new stock items correctly, Audit trails, Item sales reports.
• To understand the company Disciplinary and Grievance procedure and use your Area Manager for advice when dealing with disciplinary matters
• To communicate all key information to the store team in the most effective way
• To execute all aspects of ”Timepoint” ensuring the effective control of labour and keeping wages under budget
• To understand the Recruitment process and recruit train, coach and develop the team to ensure that they deliver brand standards and a great customer experience through a clear people plan
• Knowledge of Back office duties to include Cash Reconciliation, Input of wages, Input of dockets, SMS and the importance of Training Records
• To understand fully the P&L report that is produced each month and act upon the
financial/performance data to ensure the shop is run in the most efficient and profitable manner
• Record all sales, purchases and operating expenses in the manner specified by the Company;
• To attend all company Manager meetings and be prepared to share best practice
• To report all information and incidents which may be relevant to the safe and legal operation of the site to your Regional Manager
• Any other duties as directed by Regional Manager
